Vittorio Tolomeo
Vittorio Tolomeo comes from Messina, Italy. He settled in Milano a few years ago and started out his solo career. During his formative years he played in a few bands, but the most important one being "Noema," in which he had been connected for more than ten years now. This very tight band has released two CD's and played many gigs in Italy and Europe!After writing a few songs in English, Vittorio decided to continue in this way by going back in time to the first years of his songwriting and has always considered English as a natural approach to his background and musical roots. Vittorio always follows the stream of words and sounds, without interferences or barriers due to the language! Music is a kind of spiritual rising that makes you want to rise to your feet. Something in which the words are sounds and merge into many sounds. It' s a universal language where the personal expression of ideas or telling stories does so gracefully, by growing into those sounds, rhythm, harmonies and noises. The new record, "Prize Day" comes into being from all those emotions! It is a crossroad, where the romantic obsession of new wave meets funk and soul through the rhythm, the energy, the electric and the acoustic instruments in perfect blend! The songs complete our musical world, besides sharing a thin line in the lyrics. The thin line is the human relations in this age, especially in a big city. It is a long walk through the streets of a big city. It starts in the afternoon and continues until late at night. We face the urban rhythms with many questions and reflections that cross our minds. These questions are about relationships between lovers, friends, parents and sons. There are also sudden changes of moods in this connection! It is friendship and love. Sometimes taking off and sometimes falling down on large, well lit streets, to dark cold and lonely alleys which visually represents the moods of the mind! And through it all, time prevails by the flowing of life. Dreams and ambitions can and do collide with the reality of the man's growth. By the use of drums, bass and lead guitars blended with strings, we enhance the singer wandering thru all these different moods. Vittorio recorded the album with his good friends, that are also great musicians of the Italian Indie scene. Vittorio said: We were looking for good vibes that is more than just the musical side, but to form the sound in the studio that created those vibes when we do perform live. Sonic oscillation of drums and bass drive the singer through guitar riffs and enveloping strings. "Vittorio Tolomeo" a very unique name, bringing highly unique Music to the People, World-Wide! |
