Ivan Amodei
Entertainer-Comedian-MagicianCan you guess? Ivan Amodei was made In Italy, in the quaint village of Comiso on the island of Sicily. Soon after he moved with his family to Brooklyn, New York, and then to the West Coast when he was a teenager. His interest in the art of magic started at the impressionable age of five. “As an only child, I was able to preoccupy myself with magic.” Much later, after receiving a B.A. in Marketing and B.A. in English, Ivan decided to become a full-time entertainer. His passion and dedication to perfection has always been the fuel of his highly successful career. Considered to be one of the best in his field, Ivan has received the People’s Choice Award, Outstanding Showmanship Award, Originality Award, and other top honors from such well-respected organizations as the International Brotherhood of Magicians; the Society of American Magicians; and the Pacific Coast Association of Magicians. Most recently, ForeWord Reviews selected Ivan’s book, Magic’s Most Amazing Stories, as a 2009 Book of the Year finalist in the Humor category. Besides performing for Royalty, Ivan has entertained Steven Spielberg, Larry David, Sylvester Stallone, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, Zack Braff, Mike Myers, Nick Cage, and Jim Carrey. He has also performed for Amgen, Apple, AT&T, Cisco Systems, Disney, IBM, Google, and Yahoo! A much-sought-after headliner, Ivan often appears at the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood and other prominent comedy and magic clubs across the country. He is also a frequent lecturer on the subject of magic, teaching others his approach, philosophy, and ideas for presentation. His ideology has never changed: “It’s my job to entertain, make people laugh, blow their minds, and convince them that anything is possible.” Ivan Amodei lives in Southern California on his lemon ranch with his wife and twin boy and girl.
