Productions LLC featuring Mother’s Children AJ Sr. and Mother’s Children, the seven-member ensemble led by vocalist, producer and director AJ Sr. who has performed with the greatest legends of the Motown Sound. Motown Sound is a style of soul music with a prominent and often melodic baseline, a distinctive chord structure and a call and response style of singing born in gospel. National tours with Marvin Gaye, Roberta Flack; back-up vocals for Michael Jackson, Donny Hathaway, Taj Mahal and Oliver Sain are but a few of the accomplishments of AJ Sr. Now, for Mother’s Children he has brought together singers and musicians who come from the same milieu and together they perform with style, grace, energy and élan. With a very select group of singers and musicians AJ Sr. and Mother’s Children carries the Motown legacy forward with skill, artistry and a commitment to honoring those who tried to bridge the gap between generations and races. Dee Dee Beavers, with Angie McCree, bring their ample vocal skills to AJ Sr. and Mother’s Children from histories highlighted by working with the likes of Herbie Hancock, Stacy Lattisaw, Quicksilver Messenger Service, The Grateful Dead, Bonnie Raitt, Sheena Easton, Smokey Robinson, Mary Wilson, War, Ramsey Lewis, Foreigner, Barry Manilow, Michael McDonald and the names go on and on and on. For a full Motown and entertainment experience you have to have the moves as well as the music. Mother’s Children has the moves thanks to AJ Sr., years as dancers touring with Katherine Dunham, Debbie Allen, Nubian Dance Theatre and The Cossan African Dance Troupe.
